Thank you for joining us at the Transportation Fair on Wednesday, February 6th!
The Golden View Drive Intersection & Safety Upgrades project began with the Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) process in 2011. The Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) Department of Project Management & Engineering hired CRW Engineering Group, LLC to complete Concept and Design Study Reports to identify problems, possible alternatives, and proposed solutions along Golden View Drive from Rabbit Creek Road to Romania Drive. Following approval of the Concept and Design Study Reports by the Planning and Zoning Commission, the design team continued with the preliminary design.
Project Status & Funding
Full reconstruction of Golden View Drive to current standards is estimated to cost approximately $30 Million. Full funding in the form of State Grants is not anticipated. Based on current available funding remaining from the original State of Alaska Grant, the near-term preferred alternative is to rehabilitate Golden View Drive from Rabbit Creek Road to Romania Drive.
Proposed Rehabilitation of Golden View Drive
The near-term rehabilitation improvements to Golden View Drive include removing and replacing the existing pavement, replacing storm drain and stream culverts, cleaning debris from ditches, and installing heat trace.
Construction is scheduled for Summer 2019. The project team will continue to periodically attend the Rabbit Creek Community Council, and send out updates throughout the course of the project. Project documents and important announcements will also be posted on this website. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
